Momo No Saru Katana
The
Limited Momo No Saru katana of the hanwei forge is a real collector item.
This limited
Katana became already 'famous' before it was even produced. The planning
was scheduled to supply this momo katana somewhere in Oktober. As if we
write this, it's march. Anyway, it was worth waiting because it's a very
nice katana sword for an attractive price !
THe first
thing that I mentioned was the very solid tsuka whitch gives a very strong
grip. The samé (rayskin), witch has some nice big noodles, is covered
with japanese silk ito and feels very confortable. The blade is handforged
& folded and is showing a very nice hada (pattern). This japanese blade
doesn't have a hi (groove).
Furthermore,
the iron Tsuba (whitch is blackened) and the Fuchi & Kashira depict monkeys
raiding a peach tree – a favorite and classical theme in Japan.
Only 500 katana and
250 wakizashi were forged to distribute worldwide ! Only 100 pieces are
available on the European market so you can be sure this pieces will go
very fast. Each sword has a number and is coming with a certificate of
authenticity !
