All of these swords, which are forged at the Jewel forge, are totally new on the market and probably one of the finest swords available in this price range. While the forge is located in China, all of the fittings & Ito that are being used on all of these 1060 steel swords, are imported from Japan.

Because these swords are rather cheap, it doesn’t mean that they are “big overbuild choppers”, they are designed by a Japanese sword smith and especially constructed for the Martial Arts Practitioner!

High carbon steel samurai swords- T10 steel katanas

You want a more ‘traditional’ forged katana in a mid price range ? Than you should consider one of the samurai swords listed here in this high carbon steel section.

The biggest differences with his little brother (the 1060 steel sword) are the steel, treatment of the steel and the polish. The Jewel forge took T10 steel to construct these swords and they used the traditional clay-tempering process, which creates the Hamon. Once again, fittings, ito and sageo were imported from Japan.

The first stages of the polishing process were done by machine, while the final stages were done by hand to guarantee a smooth mirror finish.

Forged & Folded steel Japanese swords

As you may want to own a more ‘traditional’ looking sword, you are probably looking for a katana with a nice and prominent hada. In other words a Japanese sword with a forged and folded blade. This range of Japanese swords is made of a combination of T10 and 1060 high carbon steel with a hybrid polish.

To give these swords an excellent overall finish, imported Japanese Fittings, Ito and Sageo were used.
