Kazumi Katana
This hand-forged
and hand polished high carbon steel blade is your ideal choice if you’re
looking for a functional & modern made katana with a traditional stone
polish.
The Kazumi katana
is the first, and lowest priced sword in the exclusive collection of the
Jewel forge. It’s blade is made out of a single billet of T10 high carbon
steel and differentially clay tempered in a traditional way, with an edge
(ha) hardness of 58-60 HRC and a back (mune) hardness of 40 HRC, which
makes it a perfect sword to practise Tameshigiri. We do recommend you
consider the non hi version if you’re planning to cut harder targets such
as bamboo.
On the other hand, if you’re an Iaidoka or another Japanese martial arts
practitioner who’s looking for a well balanced katana to cut lighter targets
(tatami, beach mats, etc) than the hi version will be an excellent choice
for you !
Now, if you’re not an practitioner at all it would be a very nice addition
to your Japanese sword collection. Just check to overall look of the sword..I
don’t think we need to write anything else about it. The sword is mounted
with Japanese fittings (fuchi & kashira & menuki) , cotton ito and sageo
and the polishing process of this blade is 100% done by hand. Which means
over 50 hours of labour and 12 different Japanese stones were necessary
to finish the blade.
In short.. this is a very good balanced katana, ideal for any martial
artists and an ideal swords collectors item !
